Section 4 | Rule 15: Concerning the Evil Spirit’s Intention to Deter the Custos from Blessing His Wife

Let the Custos be aware that as God wills him to bless his wife, in a contrary manner, the evil spirits will make every attempt to deter the Custos from blessing her. The evil spirits will attempt to instill fear, embarrassment, or a sense of unworthiness, in the mind of the Custos. Additionally, the evil spirits will make every attempt to imprison the Custos in a state of mortal sin that he may not transmit grace to his wife. Let the Custos take courage that these are signs that the evil spirits have a great hatred for the power derived from the Custos blessing his wife. Let him make every effort to remain in a state of grace, and if he is not, let him sacramentally confess his sins as soon as he is able that he may become a channel of grace for his wife.
