SECTION 4: COUNSELS PERTAINING TO THE CUSTOS’ MARRIAGE | Rule 4
108 words / Less than a minute
As a man receives his surname from his father and that name expresses the unbroken lineage of his ancestral heritage, in a similar way, the Custos receives his fatherly vocation from God primarily, and through his wife secondarily. Therefore, the Custos not only is indebted to God, but also to his wife; thus let him thank both for his noble calling. For as St. Joseph received his noble mission of being a father to the Son of God through Mary, his wife, and therefore is eternally indebted to her, so also a husband receives his noble mission by means of his wife, and therefore is indebted to her.
