During his presentation on spiritual warfare, Fr. Peter Zorjan, said that occultists are attempting to erect the statue of Baphomet wherever the 10 Commandments are stationed.
For example, the image of Baphomet sits next to the 10 Commandments monument at the state capital in Springfield, Illinois.
Fr. Zorjan says, “Spiritual warfare ultimately boils down to one thing: obedience to God and His Commandments.”
“Do what thou will”, the mission statement of the occult, is represented by the Baphomet image, which opposes the Ten Commandments: “God’s will be done.”
The Baphomet image is a depiction of the devil, who has wings, hoofs, breasts, and a penis.
The wings symbolize what once was angelic.
The hoofs symbolize the animalistic.
The breasts symbolize the feminine.
The penis symbolizes the masculine.
In other words: Baphomet signifies “Be whatever you want to be.” “Do what thou will.”
Ironically, Baphomet has no real identity.
It is not an angel.
It is not an animal.
It is not a female.
It is not a male.
The identity of Baphomet is a rebellious reaction against true identity.
Therefore, it is fluid, transitional, and lacks real, concrete meaning, value, identity.
This is characteristic of evil.
Baphomet transitions between angel and animal—between female and male.
Baphomet is the symbol of rebellion against God’s design, plan, and goodness.
God gives human beings concrete, biological and spiritual identities.
When we are mastered by our passions we act like animals.
When we pretend that we are angels and either exalt or demean our bodies, we rebel against God’s design.
When we are biologically male and pretend, we are female…
Or biologically female and futilely attempt to become a male…
We rebel against God’s design.
Trans, LGBTQ, contraceptive, hedonistic, swinging, polyamorous ideologies are only a few of the world’s cultural expressions of Baphomet.
Notice that I said, “ideologies”—not people.
An ideology must be refuted.
People must be loved.
But what about us?
It is easy to condemn such ideologies for their blatant idolatry.
Yet, if we are to offer hope, truth, and ultimately love to those entrenched in such ideologies, we must examine ourselves.
Is our motto “Fiat Voluntas Tua.” God, your will be done?
Or is it “Do what thou wilt.”
Do we pretend to be angels, who are spiritually self-righteous, while secretly acting like animals, surrendering to unfettered bodily passions?
To refute an ideology something greater than the ideology must be offered to replace it.
People hope that an ideology will save them… bring them joy…
It never does.
We must offer something greater than an ideology to the person enslaved to it.
By living “Fiat Voluntas Tua” and finding joy in God’s will, we can offer something the world cannot—
Jesus and the freedom that comes from living in union with Him.
When the rebellious fall prey to a false ideology, hit the bottom of their personally dug pit…
and look up to that pinhole of light…
will they also see the hand of a fellow sinner, who was saved by Christ, stretching down to them…
to offer a way out of the mire?
If they do, that hand will belong to a person who lives and abides by: Fiat Voluntas Tua.
